About Shima Howard

Shima Howard was born in Atlanta, Ga. She had a 17-year tenure with the Ga Dept of Juvenile Justice. She has written several short stories, poems, and ghostwritten urban scripts for clients. She is the mother of Niambi H., Jameria P., and Rico S. Jr.(#forever22) and the grandmother to Ahilan P. She resides in Georgia, is retired, and is working on her next novel. *Between 960,000 and 3 million incidents of Domestic Violence are reported each year.

*It is estimated that more than 10 million people experience Domestic Violence in the US each year.

*A 2022 study found that 50.1% of women aged 15 to 69 have experienced some form of Domestic Violence in their lifetime. 

*There was an 8% increase in Domestic Violence during the pandemic while sheltering at home.
